Choosing the Right Motorcycle Brake Pads
Your brakes are the most important system on your motorcycle, and the pads are where stopping power actually lives. Not sure which set is right for your bike? Here's a quick rider's guide.
Sintered "HH" — the all-rounder
Sintered copper-alloy pads, like the EBC Double-H lineup, deliver the strongest bite, perform in any weather, and last far longer than organic pads. They're factory equipment on most modern street bikes and the go-to for spirited and track riding.
Organic — quiet and rotor-friendly
Organic pads are softer, quieter, and gentle on your discs — a solid choice for commuting and lighter bikes where smooth, low-noise braking matters more than outright power.
Carbon "X" — cool-running and off-road
Carbon pads generate less heat and are kinder to rotors, making them a favorite for trail, dual-sport, and adventure riders who prefer a softer initial bite.
How many sets do I need?
One set equals two pads — enough for a single brake caliper. Most sportbikes run twin front discs, which means you'll need two sets up front. Check your front end before ordering, or let us check for you.
