The Yoshimura Spark Arrester Insert Kit SA-14-K is a USFS-approved replacement spark arrester insert for Yoshimura RS-9 off-road mufflers, supplied complete with the spark arrester insert, end-cap collar and set screw.

Nearly every public off-road riding area in the United States — national forests, BLM land and organized OHV parks — requires an approved spark arrester, and it is checked at staging areas. A race-intent RS-9 system typically ships without one, so this insert is what separates a bike that can legally ride public trails from one that cannot.

It also serves as a straight replacement for an arrester that has become clogged with carbon or damaged, which happens to any hard-working off-road muffler over time. The insert fits into the muffler outlet and is retained by the supplied collar and set screw, so it can come out for closed-course days and go back in for trail riding without pulling the muffler apart.
