xThe Yoshimura Low-Volume Sound Insert is a 1-inch quiet insert for Yoshimura RS-9 mufflers, reducing exhaust noise so the same system can run at sound-restricted tracks and events.
This is a sound insert, not a spark arrester — two different parts doing two different jobs. A sound insert lowers the measured dB reading, which is what stands between a race bike and a failed sound test at a club event. It does not make a machine legal for US Forest Service land; that requires an approved arrester.
Size matters here more than usual: Yoshimura lists RS-9 inserts at 1-inch, 1.125-inch and 1.25-inch, and only the correct one will seat properly and give the intended reduction. Measure your muffler outlet before ordering.
