xThe Yoshimura Spark Arrester Insert is a USFS-approved 1.50-inch replacement arrester for Yoshimura RS-5 and RS-8 mufflers, restoring spark arrester capability to a system whose original insert has clogged, corroded or gone missing.
An approved spark arrester is required in effectively every public off-road riding area in the United States, and it is checked at the gate. Arresters are also a consumable — the mesh gradually loads with carbon until flow drops noticeably, and a clogged arrester costs real power well before it fails an inspection.
This is the replacement insert on its own rather than a complete kit, so it suits a muffler that already has a serviceable end-cap collar and set screw. One insert covers both the RS-5 and RS-8 canisters at this outlet size.
