xThe Yoshimura RS-4 Full Exhaust System is a complete header-and-muffler replacement built with a stainless steel header, an aluminum canister and a carbon fiber end cap.
On a four-stroke dirt bike the header is not plumbing. Its diameter and length determine where in the rev range the power arrives, and that is what a rider actually feels — a 250 or 450 that pulls a gear higher out of a corner is worth more on a race day than a peak number on a dyno printout.
That is the argument for a full system over a slip-on. The slip-on gives you the sound and some of the weight saving; the header is where the delivery changes.
