Yoshimura Premium Muffler Repack Kit | Yoshimura RS-3 Mufflers | Restores Sound Damping and Flow

The Yoshimura Premium Muffler Repack Kit is the replacement packing material for Yoshimura RS-3 mufflers, restoring the sound damping and flow characteristics of a canister whose original packing has burned out or blown through.

Muffler packing is a wear item, not a permanent fitting. Over time the fibre around the baffle core degrades under heat and pressure, and the symptoms are unmistakable: the exhaust gets progressively louder, the note turns harsh and raspy, and on a race bike the sound reading can drift past the limit at a sound-tested event. Repacking restores the muffler to its original specification for a fraction of the cost of a new canister.

How often depends entirely on use. A hard-worked motocross or off-road bike may need repacking every few race weekends; a street or occasional-use machine may go seasons. If the exhaust has noticeably gained volume since it was new, the packing is the reason.

Essential maintenance for anyone running a Yoshimura RS-3 muffler on a motocross, off-road or track machine, where heat cycling and sustained high rpm consume packing fastest. Confirm your muffler is an RS-3 before ordering, as packing kits are canister-specific.
