Head shape before size. The Contour-X is an intermediate oval helmet — for a head slightly longer front-to-back than side-to-side, the most common shape. If yours is rounder, the Quantum-X is Arai's round oval model; if it is long and narrow, the Signet-X.

High-visibility, and that is a real safety argument rather than a styling one. The single most common car-versus-motorcycle collision is the driver who looks and does not register the bike.
