Constructed with a PB-SNC2 shell, this helmet utilizes Z Resin, developed and blended in-house, to bond the multiple layers and materials of the shell securely, utilizing less resin for improved strength and reduced weight. The incorporation of Super Fiber and specialized synthetic reinforcing fibers contributes to a shell that is both lighter and stronger, boasting excellent glancing-off properties. Additionally, the internal structural net and peripheral belt enhance the shell's integrity without adding significant weight or thickness.
Equipped with a Variable Axis System (VAS) latch, the shield is securely held closed to resist unexpected openings. The VAS shield mechanism combines pin trajectory with a dual pivot point slot, ensuring smooth operation when opening and closing the shield, even with a lower shield mount position. A dual-function lever allows for quick and easy removal of both the side cover/pod and shield pin, while a larger latch facilitates intuitive shield operation, even when wearing heavy gloves. The shield features a positive stop to prevent unintentional opening, even in the de-mist position, yet lifts effortlessly with a gentle pull on the lift tab.
To further enhance the riding experience, the IC Duct5 features a three-position slide gate that improves sealing against noise and water intrusion. Vents are designed to be lightly mounted, ensuring they remain frangible and detach easily in the event of an impact, avoiding snagging on obstacles or causing excessive rotational force.
