This results in improved shell strength and reduced weight. The incorporation of Super Fiber and special synthetic reinforcing fibers not only creates a stronger yet lighter shell but also provides excellent Glancing Off properties. Additionally, the internal Structural net and Peripheral Belt enhance the helmet's integrity with minimal weight or thickness increase.

The Variable Axis System (VAS) latch is designed to securely hold the shield closed, preventing unexpected openings. The VAS Shield Mechanism combines pin trajectory with dual pivot point slots for smooth shield operation, even with a lower shield mount position. A dual-function lever allows for quick and easy shield removal, while a larger latch ensures intuitive operation, even with heavy gloves. The shield features a positive stop to resist unintentional opening, and with a gentle pull on the lift tab, it lifts effortlessly from the de-mist position.

For added convenience, the IC Duct5 employs a three-position slide gate to enhance sealing, reducing noise and water intrusion. The vents are lightly mounted to remain frangible, easily detaching in the event of an impact to prevent snagging on obstacles or causing excessive rotational force.
