The Arai Corsair-X Black Frost is a Snell 2020 and DOT certified full-face motorcycle helmet built on Arai's PB-SNC2 shell with the VAS Variable Axis System shield, finished in matte black and cut for an intermediate oval head shape, in sizes XS through 2XL.

Head shape before size. The Corsair-X is an intermediate oval helmet — for a head slightly longer front-to-back than side-to-side, the most common shape among riders. If yours is rounder, the Quantum-X is the model Arai builds for you; if it is long and narrow, the Signet-X. Size alone will not correct a shape mismatch, and the result is pressure points rather than comfort.

Black Frost is Arai's matte black — the plainest finish in the Corsair-X range and, for a lot of riders, the point. This is the flagship race helmet without the replica graphics: the same PB-SNC2 shell of Super Fiber and F-1-derived synthetic fibres, the same VAS shield with its lowered pivot point, and the same Type 12 diffusers, in a finish that does not announce itself. Matte also hides the fine scratches that a gloss shell shows after a season in a bag.
