The Akrapovič Slip-On Line muffler S-H5SO2-HRC is a carbon-fibre slip-on exhaust for the first-generation Honda 500 twins — the 2013-2016 CB500X and the 2013-2015 CB500F and CBR500R — replacing the oversized factory silencer with an Akrapovič carbon canister.

This is the first-generation part. Honda has revised the 500 twin family several times since, most recently for 2024 when the CB500X became the NX500, and Akrapovič builds a different muffler for the current bikes. We stock the 2024-onward version separately. If your CB500 or CBR500R is a 2017 or later machine, this is not the right muffler for it.

Honda's 500 twins are deliberately affordable bikes, and the stock exhaust is where that shows most: a very large, very heavy and very quiet silencer sized to meet noise limits with margin to spare. Swapping it for carbon is the single change that most alters both the look and the character of these machines — it takes real weight off the tail of a light motorcycle and finally lets the parallel twin be heard.
