The Akrapovic Optional Header is a stainless steel header for the 2017-2025 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R — the part that turns an Akrapovič Slip-On Line muffler into a complete system.

Akrapovič sells the exhaust in two stages deliberately. The slip-on is the first purchase and gives you the muffler; this header replaces the factory pipework and catalyst, which is where the remaining weight and the change in power delivery come from. Splitting it lets you build up to a full system over time rather than in one payment.

The effect depends on which muffler it is paired with. With the Slip-On Line in carbon it produces a sporty tone; with the titanium muffler it gives a genuine racing sound, and power and torque improve across the whole rev range rather than only at the top.

The header itself is built from welded stainless steel tube — the seams are the visible evidence of how it is made.

Fits the 2017-2025 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and GSX-R1000R. This does not fit the 2011-2016 GSX-R1000 — Suzuki redesigned the bike for 2017 and the earlier machine takes a different part.

This is a header only — it is not a complete exhaust system and requires a compatible Akrapovič muffler. Removing the factory catalyst affects the bike's emissions status; confirm what applies where you ride.
