Description
xThe Akrapovic Lower Crash Bar is an engine protection bar for the 2019-2024 BMW R1250 GS and R1250 GS Adventure.
The GS is the bike people actually drop. Not at speed — at walking pace, on a gravel car park, with luggage on, which is exactly the situation the boxer engine's exposed cylinder heads are least suited to. A lower bar takes the impact that would otherwise land on the engine casing.
Akrapovič is better known for exhausts, but the protection hardware comes out of the same shop and the same materials expertise. On a bike where a dropped cylinder head is an expensive repair, the bar costs a fraction of what it protects.
It mounts to the frame's existing points and is designed around the R1250 GS specifically, including clearance for the Adventure's larger tank.
