The Akrapovič L-B9SO1 is a stainless-steel optional link pipe for the 2024-2026 BMW F800GS and F900GS Adventure that removes the stock pre-muffler and cuts 82.9% of its weight — a 2.9 kg saving — when paired with the Akrapovič titanium Slip-On Line exhaust.

Important legal note: fitting this link pipe invalidates the EC/ECE type approval of the slip-on system. The Akrapovič Slip-On Line for these bikes is road-legal on its own; adding this optional pipe removes that approval. If you need your exhaust to remain street legal and pass inspection, do not fit this part. Akrapovič also recommends ECU remapping on installation.

The weight figure is the reason this part exists. BMW's stock pre-muffler is a 3.5 kg lump of steel mounted low and central on the bike, and removing 2.9 kg of that is one of the largest single weight savings available anywhere on an F900GS. On an adventure bike that riders lift out of ruts and paddle through sand, mass carried low and centrally is the mass that matters most.
