The Akrapovic Evolution Line is a complete exhaust kit for the 2009-2014 Yamaha YZF-R1, built around a carbon fibre muffler.

This is the crossplane-crank R1 — the bike Yamaha built directly from its MotoGP programme, with an engine that fires unevenly and sounds like nothing else on the road. It is also the generation whose factory exhaust is the largest and heaviest Yamaha ever fitted to an R1, a huge under-slung box that dominates the back of the motorcycle.

Replacing it is transformative in a way it rarely is on other bikes: the crossplane engine's character is largely locked inside that silencer, and an Akrapovič system is the standard way owners of this generation get it out.

Evolution Line is the top of the range — the same construction and materials Akrapovič supplies to its factory race teams, made at the company's own titanium foundry in Slovenia.

Fits the 2009-2014 Yamaha YZF-R1. Yamaha redesigned the R1 completely for 2015 and that generation takes an entirely different system. An ECU flash is recommended to get the most from a full system. Check your local sound and emissions requirements before fitting.
